Yellowknife, le 25 avril 2016 – Le gouvernement des Territoires du Nord-Ouest a le plaisir d’annoncer qu’Urgences-médic jouera dorénavant un rôle clé dans la coordination des évacuations médicales. De plus, le fournisseur de services ambulanciers aériens des Territoires du Nord-Ouest (TNO), ACCESS, participera désormais aux évacuations médicales en régions éloignées de personnes se trouvant dans un endroit déterminé situé en dehors d’une collectivité définie.

Norman Wells, TNO, le 13 avril 2016 – Les résidents de Norman Wells et d’Inuvik auront l’occasion de rencontrer cette semaine le premier ministre et tous les ministres du gouvernement des Territoires du Nord-Ouest (GTNO).

Yellowknife, le 11 mars 2016 — Le ministre de la Santé et des Services sociaux, Glen Abernethy, sollicite des candidatures pour des nominations aux Conseils régionaux du mieux-être (CRME) des Territoires du Nord-Ouest (TNO).

Les CRME constituent de nouveaux organes consultatifs établis pour permettre aux résidents des TNO de donner leur avis sur le système territorial de santé et de services sociaux. Ces groupes aideront à orienter les décisions concernant les politiques et programmes en cette matière aux TNO.

YELLOWKNIFE (March 31, 2016) - Representatives from the GNWT, Aboriginal governments, communities, non-government organizations and businesses met in Yellowknife this week to continue collaborative efforts to identify and implement effective solutions to combat poverty in the Northwest Territories. They shared success stories, provided updates and set shared priorities for the coming year.

The Roundtable focused on the five pillars from the Anti-Poverty Strategic Framework:

Mr. Speaker, this Assembly has made it a priority to focus on culturally appropriate delivery methods for mental health and addictions services in our communities.  To accomplish this we need to improve the services and supports that are provided to residents. We know that the current system needs improvement, and we must rethink the way mental health and addictions services are delivered.

Mr. Speaker, I rise today to provide Members with an update on an exciting new initiative to support On The Land programming in the Northwest Territories.

Mr. Speaker, we know that there is huge demand for On The Land programs in the NWT. They are important components of community wellness, healing, healthy living, and environmental stewardship and protection. They support the traditional economy, sustainable livelihoods, and building capacity in our communities.

Yellowknife, le 29 février 2016 – Le gouvernement des Territoires du Nord‑Ouest (GTNO) poursuit sa planification afin de répondre aux besoins futurs des Ténois par un examen des soins de longue durée, dont le rapport a été diffusé aujourd’hui par le ministre de la Santé et des Services sociaux, M. Glen Abernethy.

Mr. Speaker, supporting quality early childhood development in collaboration with other organizations is a priority for the 18^th Legislative Assembly. We all want the children of the NWT to have the best possible start in life so that they can reach their full potential. To realize this goal, the Early Childhood Development Action Plan was developed to address gaps in services delivered to children aged zero to five, by creating new programs and improving existing ones.

YELLOWKNIFE (February 9, 2016) – Health and Social Services minister Glen Abernethy would like to announce that Sue Cullen will accept the appointment of Chief Executive Officer for the new Territorial Health and Social Services Authority (THSSA).

“Our new health and social services authority will help us improve care across our Territory,” said Abernethy. “I am happy to welcome Sue Cullen, who brings a wealth of Northern and healthcare experience and will be a strong leader through the changes required to implement the new Authority.”
