This first NWT Climate Change Risks and Opportunities Assessment (the Assessment) aims to provide a shared understanding of the most pressing climate change risks Northwest Territories (NWT) residents and communities will face in the next decade.
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Department of Environment and Climate Change (ECC) operates three waste reduction and diversion programs and one initiative to help keep waste out of NWT landfills and off the land: the Beverage Container Program (BCP), the Single-use Retail Bag Program (SRBP), the Electronics Recycling Program (ERP), and the Waste Reduction and Recycling Initiative (WRRI).
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) Department of Lands (Lands) has developed this template of a Quarry Development Plan (QDP) for the Northwest Territories to identify the information required to efficiently process quarry permit applications and to apply consistent standards to the design and operation of quarries.
A Quarry Development Plan is to describe the design and operation of the quarry from initial development through to final reclamation. A QDP is intended to be complementary, not duplicative, to the terms and conditions contained in regulatory authorizations (licences or permits).
