Liard River, Northwest Territories

This comprehensive sampling program measured the condition of the Liard River at the boundary between British Columbia and the Northwest Territories. The purpose was to assess the present status of the river, discover any hazards to human health or the aquatic environment, and to define a solid baseline to see if conditions change in the future.

As part of a follow-up to the program, further sampling was conducted in 2001, 2002 and 2007.
