Premier issues statement on the passing of The Duke of Edinburgh

Premier Caroline Cochrane issued the following statement on the passing of His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh:

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip.

“Prince Philip was a man who made many sacrifices in his life so we could enjoy the freedoms we have today. This was most evident during his time as a decorated naval officer during the Second World War. He spent much of his life working to help others and provide opportunities to those who may not have been as fortunate.

Caroline Cochrane: Intergovernmental Council Legislative Development Protocol

Check against delivery

Mr. Speaker, a fundamental part of our success as a government, and the future prosperity of our territory, depends on a productive and collaborative partnership with Indigenous governments. We must foster constructive and respective relationships with our Indigenous leaders, and to seek ways to advance reconciliation, recognize and affirm Indigenous rights, and support expanded program and service delivery.
