YELLOWKNIFE, NT (September 7, 2018) – Premier Bob McLeod and Caroline Cochrane, Minister of Education, Culture and Employment, today announced the start of a cross-Canada executive search for an Associate Deputy Minister of Postsecondary Education Renewal. This step is part of ongoing Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) efforts to improve postsecondary education in the Northwest Territories (NWT).

The Northwest Territories has an abundance of energy resources, including world class reserves of oil and gas and hydro potential from rivers and lakes of an estimated 11,000 Megawatts that have the capacity to generate electricity on the scale of James Bay or Churchill Falls, much of it still untapped.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (June 1, 2018) — The Northwest Territories was recognized last night as a world-leading jurisdiction for responsible mining.
In his acceptance of a Diamonds Do Good Award from the World Diamond Empowerment Fund, Premier Bob McLeod credited the partnership that has evolved between industry and public and Indigenous governments to advance the socially and environmentally-conscious management of mining in the NWT.
