Find the service you need on the GNWT’s new service directory

YELLOWKNIFE (December 16, 2013) – The GNWT’s new service directory provides residents and businesses with a more effective and efficient way to find the government services they require.

“The service directory connects people, information, and services,” said Minister of Finance Michael Miltenberger. “Improving our use of technology will reduce red tape by making it easier for our residents to get government services.”

New Occupational Health and Safety Training Program for GNWT Employees

YELLOWKNIFE (November 28, 2013) – A new comprehensive occupational health and safety training program will enhance workplace safety and well-being for all GNWT employees.  The GNWT has partnered with the Northern Safety Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to safer northern workplaces, to provide training to employees. 

Glen Abernethy - Regional Recruitment Program

(October 23, 2013) - Mr. Speaker, increasing employment opportunities where they are most needed is a key priority of this Assembly. We need to connect our labour force with the available public service jobs across the NWT. As part of our Workforce Planning Strategy, the Department of Human Resources is developing a Regional Recruitment Program.  It will incorporate unique approaches to recruitment with on-the-job training so that people across the North have opportunities to be supported in their development as public servants.

Department of Human Resources launches new website

YELLOWKNIFE (October 4, 2013) - Minister of Human Resources Glen Abernethy announced the launch of a redesigned and improved website today.

“We are proud of the human resources programs and services offered to employees and clients,” said Minister Abernethy. “Investment in technologies to effectively improve internal communications on these programs and services means employees are better able to support the priorities of the Government and meet the expectations of Northerners for high quality services.”
