All About Mittens

December 1, 2010 - Amazing Family Sundays presents: All About Mittens, December 5, 2 – 4 pm at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Center.

Join the Literacy Ladies, Kathryn and Katie, for a winter afternoon dedicated to mittens! They’ll read a Story Sack tale of lost mittens that is sure to warm your heart. Warm your hands with crafts and see how mittens are made with various materials. If you want to warm the hands of others, bring a new pair of mittens to donate to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Hampers.

Third NWT Governance Conference

November 30, 2010 - The Department of Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA) is hosting the third NWT Governance Conference from December 7 – 9, 2010 in Yellowknife.

MACA invites one Council member and your Senior Administration staff to participate in the conference. Travel subsidy is available for 2 participants from your community.

Aboriginal Tourism Consultation

November 17, 2010 - The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) , Tourism and Parks Division will be hosting an Aboriginal Tourism Consultation workshop from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on November 24, 2010 in Inuvik.

The recommendations in Building the Aboriginal Tourism Product report will be discussed, as well as ITI action items and next steps.

Outdoor Adventure Workshop

November 16, 2010 - The Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment is hosting a one day Outdoor Adventure Workshop in Inuvik on November 23, 2010.

The goal of the workshop is to generate ideas for diversifying or enhancing existing products, developing new products and expanding target markets for the Outdoor Adventure Operators. The objectives are to:

National Addictions Awareness Week

November 14, 2010 - National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) is observed across Canada every year during the third week of November. This year NAAW is November 14-20, 2010.
