Mr. Speaker, today I am speaking about family and gender violence. This is a painful subject for so many people. I will now pause for a moment, to give survivors the opportunity to choose whether they would like to listen.
The Northwest Territories Housing Corporation (NWTHC) continues to move forward with its unprecedented level of capital delivery to address core housing needs across the Territory.
The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is pleased to announce that at 10 a.m. this morning, the Tłı̨chǫ Highway opened to the public. This new all-season road connects the community of Whatì to Highway 3 via the Whatı̀ Access Road.
The Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs, Shane Thompson, has extended the State of Emergency in the City of Yellowknife. This extension is being made under s.14 of the Emergency Management Act.
The extension continues through December 13, 2021.
Beginning November 30th, the Yellowknife Driver and Vehicle Office is offering expanded walk-in service. Clients can now walk-in on Tuesday and Thursdays, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Previously, walk-in services were available on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m.
