GNWT Promotes Fur, Tourism in China

YELLOWKNIFE (January 8, 2014) – Premier Bob McLeod and Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment David Ramsay will lead a delegation to China to promote the NWT as a trade partner, a follow-up to the successful Council of the Federation Mission to China in 2012.

During that mission, there was significant interest from the mining, energy, furs, and tourism industries about the NWT’s potential to serve the Chinese market, and Premier McLeod committed to support partnerships to expand these industries.

Inaugural NWT Restorative Justice Recognition Award Presented to Paulatuk Resident

YELLOWKNIFE (December 18, 2013) – Mr. Fred Bennett, retired Community Justice Coordinator for Paulatuk, NT, has received the first Restorative Justice Recognition Award as a show of appreciation and gratitude for his efforts toward bettering both Community Justice and his community of Paulatuk. Mr. Bennett is the first recipient of this newly created award.

Department of Industry, Tourism and Investment launches new website

YELLOWKNIFE (December 18, 2013) – A new and improved Industry, Tourism and Investment (ITI) website launched today with a strong focus on client needs.

“ITI has always prided itself on having a strong relationship with our clients, and this new site will be a great way for residents to access the information they need, quickly and easily,” said Minister of Industry, Tourism and Investment David Ramsay.  “The new site provides an enhanced web user experience and contains current, accurate information on ITI programs and services.”

“The service directory connects people, information, and services,” said Minister of Finance Michael Miltenberger. “Improving our use of technology will reduce red tape by making it easier for our residents to get government services.”
