Tulita

This area was used by the Sahtu Dene for centuries before the creation of the Hudson’s Bay Company trading post in 1869.  Tulita, home to about 500 people, is located at the shore where the Mackenzie River meets the Great Bear River.  It is accessible year round by air and by ice road during the winter months.

School is available for students in Junior Kindergarten through to Grade 12 at the Chief Albert Wright School.  Aurora College operates a Community Learning Centre for adults.
