Wekweètì is located along the Snare River and with 125 residents it is the smallest, most remote of the four Tłı̨chǫ communities. Wekweètì is not far from the barren lands beyond the tree line. Traditionally, the land was a seasonal hunting camp before becoming a permanent settlement in the 1960s. Air access is available year round with ice road access during the winter.
Students in Junior Kindergarten through Grade 10 attend Alexis Arrowmaker School. There is a community learning centre for adults.
