Founded in the 1860’s, Fort Providence sits on the Mackenzie River and is now home to about 800 people. The town has year round access to incredible fishing on the river and year round northern animal sightings with black bear, woodland caribou, moose and wood bison abundant in the area. With the opening of the Dehcho Bridge in November 2012, Fort Providence has year round road access.
Deh Gah Elementary & Secondary School offers class for Junior Kindergarten through Grade 12.
