Tsiigehtchic

Tsiigehtchic is located along the Mackenzie River and the Dempster Highway providing year round road access, with the exception of freeze up and break up when the ice road is not open and the ferry is not operational.  Now home to roughly 170 people, the community was originally founded in 1868 with the establishment of a Catholic mission. 

Students from Junior Kindergarten through to Grade 9 attend Chief Paul Niditchie School.  There is also an Aurora College Community Learning Centre.
