YELLOWKNIFE (July 4, 2018) – As part of its ongoing commitment to increase accountability and transparency, the Government of the Northwest Territories launched the Public Engagement and Transparency website in the spring of 2017. This website responds to direction in the mandate of the Minister of Public Engagement and Transparency to promote awareness about information on government accountability.

Mr. Speaker, yesterday a discussion paper tabled by the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, titled Temporary Special Measures’ To Increase the Participation of Women in the NWT Legislative Assembly was tabled.
Western Premiers met today in Yellowknife to advance their shared priorities towards keeping western Canada economically competitive and increasing opportunities for long term positive growth for people and communities in all regions of Western and Northern Canada. They held productive discussions on a number of mutual priorities, including ongoing pan-Canadian pharmacare initiatives, the continued uncertainty around cannabis legalization timelines, and western and northern prosperity.
