YELLOWKNIFE (March 16, 2016) - Michael McLeod, Member of Parliament for the Northwest Territories, today announced funding for 13 projects for municipalities in the Northwest Territories under the Government of Canada’s Small Communities Fund. MP McLeod was joined by Robert McLeod, Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs for the Northwest Territories.

The Government of Canada remains committed to making historic investments in infrastructure to promote good jobs and clean growth in towns and cities across the country.

YELLOWKNIFE (February 18, 2016) - The recipients of the 2015-2016 High Performance Athlete Grant were announced last week by Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA) Robert C. McLeod and Maureen Miller, President of the Sport North Federation.

YELLOWKNIFE (February 11, 2016) – A celebration was held today to mark the completion of the Hamlet of Fort McPherson’s new four-bay parking garage.  The new facility will provide much needed space within the community for storing and maintaining municipal vehicles and equipment.

YELLOWKNIFE (February 5, 2016) – The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) and Sport North Federation would like to clarify recent media reports regarding a matter that is currently before the courts. 

The GNWT and Sport North have a long history of successful partnerships in delivering sport programming that benefits athletes and communities across the NWT and continue to work as partners, despite having sought resolution of this contractual dispute in the courts.

YELLOWKNIFE (January 14, 2016) – Municipal and Community Affairs (MACA), is now accepting nominations for the Northwest Territories (NWT) Outstanding Volunteer Awards. This year marks the 26^th year of this award, which recognizes the remarkable contributions volunteers make in communities across the NWT.

Residents are encouraged to nominate an elder, youth, individual, or group volunteer in their communities. This program acknowledges individuals who donate their time to improve the quality of life for NWT residents. 

YELLOWKNIFE (October 23, 2015) – The Department of Municipal and Community Affairs has announced the nine non-government organizations (NGOs) that will receive funding through the 2015-2016 Non-Government Organization Stabilization Fund.
