A recreational / cabin lease gives the occupant the exclusive right to use the land for a specified period and allows the lessee to make improvements on the land not for commercial or industrial purposes. Specific terms and conditions are included in the lease.

An industrial lease gives the occupant the exclusive right to use the land for a specified period and allows the lessee to make improvements on the land. Specific terms and conditions are included in the lease.

A commercial lease gives the occupant the exclusive right to use the land for a specified period and allows the lessee to make improvements on the land for their business-related activities. Specific terms and conditions are included in the lease. 

The Administration of the Territorial Lands Act System (ATLAS) provides accurate mapping of each parcel of land in the Northwest Territories.
