About the Gathering
The 2020 NWT Conservation Network Gathering took place February 26-27, 2020, in Yellowknife.
The gathering brought together more than 100 participants, including Indigenous leaders, federal and territorial governments, academia, non-government organizations and conservation leaders from across Canada, to exchange knowledge, build partnerships and nurture collaboration.
Over two days, participants explored themes of innovation in protected area governance, management, finance, sustainability and research.
An evening event on February 26 celebrated northern Indigenous cultures and a coming together of partners involved in the governance, management and monitoring of the NWT conservation network.
