Input received from public and stakeholder engagement conducted from December 2021 to February 2022 helped inform the development of these proposed regulations.

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is inviting interested members of the public to apply to be a representative on the NWT Mental Health Act Review Board.
The Review Board operates at arm’s length from government to ensure that individuals who are being held involuntarily under the Mental Health Act, and those acting on their behalf, have access to an objective review process. The Review Board is comprised of board members who are appointed by the Minister of Health and Social Services to serve a two-year term, with option for renewal.
