The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking an individual to be the Northwest Territories (NWT) nominee to become a Director on the Arctic Winter Games International Committee (AWGIC). If you or someone you know has a passion for sport and culture, please consider an application.

GNWT announces changes to cost-sharing arrangements for new Extended Health Benefits Program

In an effort to evaluate the impact that the Extended Health Benefits (EHB) Program will have on residents, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is waiving the cost-sharing requirement in the first year for income band levels 2 to 10. 

As a result, residents whose income falls within those bands will not have to pay the deductible to access eligible prescription drugs, medical supplies, and equipment. Adjustments have also been made to align the low-income threshold with the Northern Market Basket Measure for 2023.

GNWT seeks feedback on proposed amendments to the Health and Social Services Professions Act

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking feedback from stakeholders and the public on proposed amendments to the Health and Social Services Professions Act (HSSPA). Amendments aim to align the Northwest Territories with best practices across Canada, providing clear guidelines for both practitioners and patients. 

The HSSPA seeks to bring all Department of Health and Social Services regulated professionals under one comprehensive regulatory framework. 

Key proposed amendments include:

Planned outage for DMV online services and Highway Conditions Map

Due to scheduled maintenance, online driver and vehicle services and the Highway Conditions Map will be unavailable for a short time on July 31, 2024. 

This outage is scheduled to run from 3 A.M. MST until approximately 8:00 A.M. During this time, residents can find highway and ferry updates on the Public Safety Page. Users trying to access the regular links will be redirected to this page.
