Le gouvernement des Territoires du Nord‑Ouest (GTNO) avise les résidents que la saison des routes d’hiver tire à sa fin. Les automobilistes sont invités à consulter la carte des conditions routières avant de se déplacer.

Alors que les températures augmentent et que la glace commence à fondre, les conditions routières peuvent rapidement devenir dangereuses. Nous tâcherons de donner un préavis, mais il se pourrait que les routes doivent fermer rapidement.

Aujourd’hui, la première ministre Caroline Cochrane a fait la déclaration suivante :

« Cet après-midi, la ministre fédérale des Finances, Chrystia Freeland, a dévoilé le budget fédéral de 2023. Comme de nombreux Ténois, j’ai attendu avec impatience sa publication pour savoir de quelle manière il appuiera les résidents des Territoires du Nord-Ouest (TNO).

Du 28 au 30 mars, les récoltants des TNO sont invités à participer au Forum du programme Fourrures authentiques de la vallée du Mackenzie au Centre Chief Drygeese de Dettah.

Mr. Speaker, I want to share with you some of the exciting things happening at Housing Northwest Territories that are a direct result of our renewal strategy. 

Since the initiation of the strategy, Housing NWT has worked with the Council of Leaders to revise and modernize its mandate and use that mandate to guide the review of our policies and programs. We are now in the process of implementing the changes coming from that review.

Mr. Speaker, the Northwest Territories Business Development and Investment Corporation, or BDIC, is excited about business development and digital transformation opportunities in the territory.  As we shift to a digital economy where consumers are purchasing more goods and services online, looking for e-commerce convenience, and expecting vendors to personalize offerings, there is a greater need to support businesses to establish or increase their online presence.

Mr. Speaker, in May 2022 our government announced the merger of the departments of Lands and Environment and Natural Resources. 

Post-devolution, the merger is an important step to evolve the resource management, regulatory, and security responsibilities that are linked but currently split between the two departments.

« Vous avez le droit de vous sentir en sécurité chez vous et dans votre collectivité » constitue la première étape d’une vaste campagne visant à sensibiliser le public à la maltraitance envers les aînés, aux facteurs qui y contribuent, ainsi qu’aux moyens de la prévenir et de la faire cesser.
