Help Prevent Concussions in Your Community – Get Involved During Concussion Awareness Week

Concussion Awareness Week is being recognized across Canada this year from September 21 to 27, 2025. This national initiative aims to raise awareness on how to prevent, identify, and manage concussions, particularly in sports, recreation, and everyday life.

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is encouraging residents, schools, coaches, teams, and workplaces across the Northwest Territories (NWT) to take part in this important week. Concussion awareness starts with you. Here is how you can get involved:

Drinking Water at Range Lake North School Deemed Safe

The Office of the Chief Public Health Officer (CPHO) has lifted the Health Order previously in place at Range Lake North School, following confirmation that lead levels in drinking water no longer exceed Health Canada guidelines.

All fountains and fixtures used for drinking water and food preparation have been replaced, and follow-up testing has confirmed overall water quality. Standard operating procedures are being developed to support ongoing maintenance — including filter replacement and routine re-testing — to ensure the water remains safe over time.
