The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre (PWNHC) is pleased to announce a new photography exhibit celebrating northern food.

Delicious! features archival photographs from the NWT Archive spanning over 80 years and demonstrates the many ways that northerners gather, prepare and enjoy many types of food.

Join the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre (PWNHC) and Carmen Braden for a musical improvisation workshop and concert on January 14, 2023.

Use your voice! Join Sbot N Wo artists WL Altman and Helen Pridmore for a musical workshop in improvisation. Combine your voice with computer programming to create music. No musical, improvisational or technical skills required!

Early Childhood Infrastructure Fund accepting proposals to support the creation of centre-based child care spaces

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is now accepting funding proposals for the Early Childhood Infrastructure Fund (ECIF) for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

ECIF provides non-profit organizations and Indigenous governments with funding for infrastructure repairs and retrofits to support the preservation, expansion and creation of centre-based child care spaces in communities across the Northwest Territories.

Francophone Community Satisfaction Survey Results Released

Results from the third annual Francophone Community Satisfaction Survey have been released. The data covers an 11-month period, from April 1, 2021 to February 28, 2022 and includes feedback from 109 respondents. The request for voluntary feedback was to help improve the GNWT’s offer and delivery of quality French language communications and services to the public.

Funding, program review and economic benefits featured in Aurora College Transformation Quarterly Report

The next Quarterly Report  on Aurora College Transformation was released by the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) today.

Though often presented as one project, transformation is in fact a collection of over 100 projects, spread over three phases and a collaboration between Aurora College and the GNWT.

GNWT clarifies use of playground equipment for early learning and child care operators

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) would like to clarify its stance on the use of playground equipment for Northwest Territories (NWT) licensed early learning and child care operators during winter months.

A letter dated November 24, 2022 from the Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) to licensed early learning and child care program operators, requested that operators refrain from using playground equipment during the duration of the winter season.
