Le gouvernement des Territoires du Nord-Ouest (GTNO) a ordonné la tenue d’un examen d’un incident qui a eu lieu au Complexe correctionnel de Fort Smith, où un détenu a été libéré par mégarde puis réincarcéré.

Le 7 janvier 2022, un détenu a été libéré du Complexe correctionnel de Fort Smith. Après sa remise en liberté, l’individu était sous la surveillance d’un agent de probation et devait rendre compte à ce dernier.

Le gouvernement des Territoires du Nord-Ouest (GTNO) invite les résidents des TNO à participer à une discussion en ligne sur les changements proposés au régime public d’assurance-maladie du GTNO, connu actuellement sous le nom de régime d’assurance-maladie complémentaire pour maladies spécifiques.

Le gouvernement des Territoires du Nord-Ouest (GTNO) fera entendre les voix du Nord à la 27e Conférence des Parties (COP27) des Nations Unies. 

La COP27 est le dernier rassemblement du sommet mondial annuel sur le changement climatique. Les dirigeants qui sont parties à la Convention-cadre des Nations Unies sur les changements climatiques se réunissent pour évaluer les progrès réalisés en matière de lutte contre le changement climatique, partager les connaissances sur la réduction des GES et l’adaptation au changement climatique, et négocier des protocoles et des accords.

Madam Speaker, at the appropriate time today, I will table Changing the Relationship, the final Action Plan in response to the Calls for Justice on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ People.

At its core, this action plan is about relationships. Our relationships with institutions, governments, people, and history.

Madam Speaker, as employment levels reach historic highs, tight labour markets are being experienced across the Northwest Territories and Canada.  To address labour shortages, the Government of the Northwest Territories is working to strengthen our northern workforce through legislation, funding programs, academic and technical supports, and enhanced programs and policies.

Madam Speaker, settling and implementing treaty, land, resources, and self-government agreements is a priority for the Government of the Northwest Territories and a key part of the Mandate of the Government of the Northwest Territories.

Concluding agreements with our Indigenous government partners will advance reconciliation, recognize, and affirm Indigenous and treaty rights, support program and service delivery by Indigenous governments, and set the stage for economic self-determination.
