Extended Health Benefits What We Heard report released by GNWT

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) has released the What We Heard: Proposed Changes to the Extended Health Benefits (EHB) Policy report.

From August 29 to November 23, 2022, the Department solicited input and feedback from the public and stakeholders on the proposed changes outlined in the discussion paper titled "Supplementary Health Benefit Policy Framework."

GNWT releases What We Heard Report on Seasonal Time Change

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) has released its What We Heard Report on Seasonal Time Change.

The What We Heard Report includes a summary of the feedback received from the six-week public engagement that took place from April 4, 2022, to May 16, 2022.  Northwest Territories (NWT) residents were asked whether they want to keep the twice-annual time change or permanently adopt a single time.

GNWT launches Open Data Portal

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) has launched a new Open Data Portal to provide a single point of access for existing GNWT data resources.

The Open Data Portal makes government-held data available to the public in accessible and user-friendly formats and supports the GNWT’s commitment to release timely and accurate information in a consistent, transparent, and reliable manner.

The Open Data Portal currently includes close to 300 datasets and will be updated quarterly.

GNWT announces advisory committee to strengthen not-for-profit and charitable sector in the NWT

The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) will establish a Not-for-Profit Sector External Advisory Committee to provide independent advice and recommendations to the GNWT to help strengthen the not-for-profit and charitable sector in the Northwest Territories (NWT).

The scope of the Committee’s work will include:

Housing NWT collaborates with residents on design of new seniors’ duplexes

Guided by Housing Northwest Territories’ (NWT) renewal strategy, the Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is developing seniors’ duplexes using an enhanced approach that involves increased collaboration with community members.

The GNWT has been involved in a collaborative process with members of Fort McPherson, Fort Simpson, Fort Resolution, Tulita and Behchokǫ̀ on the design and development of five new seniors’ public housing duplexes.
